Elk Grove Shooting Victim Expected to Survive, Investigation Continues

The victim in an Elk Grove shooting is expected to survive the injuries sustained according to Elk Grove Police.

The update was issued this morning saying the male victim who was shot in the chest at approximately 4:10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 15 is expected to survive the incident. According to Elk Grove Police, the victim was shot in front of a residence on the 6900 block of Risata Way in Laguna.

The suspected shooter fled the area in a silver two-door vehicle. Elk Grove Police told KCRA they believe the motive appeared to be a robbery and do not believe either the victim or suspect, who was described as a Black male adult, have ties to the Laguna neighborhood. 

The investigation is ongoing.
