Elk Grove Man Held on $510,000 Bail, Charged With Possession of Live Bomb Device

September 13, 2017 |

An Elk Grove man is being held at the Sacramento County Jail on a bail of $510,000 after his arrest for possession of a live bomb and bomb-making equipment.

Edward Henderson, 47, is charged with misdemeanor probation violation, and five other felony charges including possession of bomb-making ingredients.

The arrest came after Elk Grove Police responded to the 8800 block of Mandalay Way just before 6 p.m. after receiving reports of a possible armed kidnapping. When police arrived, Henderson had left the area and witnesses provided a license plate number.

A search of the residence led to the discovery of unspecified explosives and ammunition. As a safety precaution, occupants of the house and other nearby dwellings were evacuated.

Police then learned the suspect's vehicle was located on Watt Avenue in Sacramento. Henderson and his wife, who id was determined had not been kidnapped, were detained without incident.

The Sacramento Sheriff Department’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team (EOD) responded and determined that the devices were live. EOD secured the devices which were disrupted.

Henderson is scheduled for arraignment on Thursday, September 14.

It's all Trump's fault. Global warming, DACA, and now it seems the IRA is moving to Camden!
