Labor Day Weekend DUI, License Checkpoint To Be Conducted by Elk Grove Police

In conjunction with the traditional end of the summer season, the Elk Grove Police Department will be conducting a DUI and drivers license checkpoint over the Labor Day weekend.

The enforcement will be conducted starting at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 1 through approximately 3 a.m. on Saturday, September 2. The location of the checkpoint was not disclosed. 

The checkpoint will focus on removing impaired drivers, as well as unlicensed drivers from the roadways. Funding for the enforcement is provided through a Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Grant that was made available by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
