Reported Runaway Taken Into Custody After He Allegedly Swings Object, Tries Punching Elk Grove Police Officer

A 16-year old male juvenile was taken into custody after he allegedly tried to assault officers.

On the early afternoon hours of Saturday, September 9, Elk Grove Police contacted the Sacramento juvenile who had been reported as a runaway near Bradshaw and Sheldon roads. Upon contact, the suspect swung a metal object at the officers striking one of them.

The juvenile also allegedly attempted punching one officer in the face and kicking another. The suspect was finally restrained by several officers and placed in a WRAP restraint system. 

The suspect was taken into custody and booked into juvenile hall. None of the officers were injured during the incident.
