Folsom Police Locate Stolen Vehicle, Suspect Arrested by Elk Grove Police

With the aid of another law enforcement agency, a stolen vehicle was recovered and a suspect arrested.

On the evening of Monday, October 30 Elk Grove Police were taking a report on the 10400 block of Grant Line Road regarding a stolen vehicle. While police were gathering information, Folsom Police officer located the vehicle being driven on Highway 50 near Prairie City Road in Folsom.

The vehicle was stopped by Folsom PD and contacted the driver of the vehicle, Crystal Ovine Howton (pictured above), 36, of Elk Grove. Elk Grove Police and the registered owner went to the scene, and Howton was positively identified as the person who allegedly stole the vehicle.

Howton is in custody at the county jail and is being held on a $60,000 bail for auto theft. Arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday, November 1.
