Suspected Impaired Hit and Run Driver Arrested By Elk Grove Police

October 10, 2017 |

A Sacramento man remains in custody at the Sacramento County Jail on two felony and seven misdemeanor charges after fleeing the scene of an accident.

On Monday, October 9 at approximately 3:30 p.m. Mitchell Oliver Price, 25, was allegedly operating a vehicle that was involved in an accident with another vehicle near Big Horn and Elk Grove boulevards. Instead of stopping at the scene to exchange information, Price reportedly drove away.

Responding Elk Grove Police patrol officers located Price and initiated an enforcement stop. Upon contact, Price reportedly displayed objective signs of impairment.

A record check revealed Price as on probation, and a search of his vehicle led to the discovery of a controlled substance and narcotic paraphernalia. Price is being held on $70,000 bail but is not eligible for release.

Arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday, October 11.
