Sacramento Norteno Gang Members Sentenced For Attempted Murder, Assault

November 3, 2017 |

Three members of the Sacramento Norteno gang were sentenced today for their roles in an attempted murder.

The three defendants, Ray Ramierez, Joseph Castaneda, and Manuel Labrasca, were sentenced to 77 years to life,  27 years and 8 months, and 23 years and 8 months in prison respectively. The sentence was handed down by Sacramento Superior Court Judge Russel Hom.

On September 28, 2017, a jury convicted all three defendants of two counts of attempted murder and enhancements for causing great bodily injury and participating in a criminal street gang. On March 17, 2016, Castaneda, Labrasca and Ramirez were in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the Lemon Hill area and are all validated Norteno gang members.

The two victims were in a car that entered the parking lot. When the passenger got out of that car he was immediately attacked.

The driver attempted to intervene in the assault and was also attacked. Both victims suffered extensive stab wounds but they were able to get into their car and driver was able to drive to a local hospital.

Ramirez has a prior strike conviction for robbery and participating in a criminal street gang.

Yeah funny how the story is told not half the truth, it must be ok to show up at someone's place of residence and start trouble and expect not for the so called bad guys to defend themselves. Our justice system is nothing but a complete failure and only to tell society what sounds good. These two were no picnic in the park! Innocent people put away for lowlifes who show up drunk and high picking fights. Whatever happened to defending yourself?? Another thing don't wear red or or have tattoos your a vailedated gang member according to Elk Grove & Sac D.A's office.
