Traffic Advisories Issued For Elk Grove's Thanksgiving Day Gooble Wobble Run, Old Town Dickens Faire

The City of Elk Grove has issued two traffic advisories for major events being held in coming days.

On Thanksgiving Day, the re-branded Gobble Wobble run will take place.

To accommodate the event, road closures and alternative routes will be set up between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.mRoadways will be re-opened when runners clear the area. Holiday motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to plan accordingly.

Street Closures for Thursday, November 23:
  •  Both directions of Longleaf Drive will be closed
  •  Laguna Spring Drive in both directions between Laguna Blvd and Elk Grove Blvd
  •  Eastbound Laguna Blvd/Bond Road from Laguna Springs Drive to East Stockton Blvd
  •  Northbound Highway 99 Bond Road off-ramp
  •  Both directions of East Stockton Blvd between Bond Road and Emerald Vista Drive
  •  Neighborhood traffic east of Highway 99 south of Bond Road and North of Elk Grove Blvd. within the run route will be controlled for local traffic only.
  •  Southbound Emerald Vista Drive at Cullen Court
  •  Northbound Emerald Vista Drive at East Stockton Boulevard 
  •  West Stockton Blvd between Walmart and Laguna Palms Way
  •  Both directions of Office Park Circle and Laguna Palms Way
  •  Williamson Drive at Superb Circle
  •  Superb Circle
  •  Westbound Elk Grove Blvd at Williamson Drive (#2 lane closed)


On Saturday, November 25 the 30th annual Dickens Faire and parade will be held in Old Town Elk Grove. To accommodate the event, the follow advisory will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. 
Street closures for Saturday, November 25:

  • Both directions of Elk Grove Blvd from 2nd Street to School Street will be closed from 6 am to 6 pm.
  • Both directions of Elk Grove Blvd from Elk Grove-Florin Road to School Street will be closed from 6 pm to 10 pm.
  • Both directions of Elk Grove Florin Road from Emerald Park Drive to Elk Grove Blvd will be closed from 5:30 pm to 8 pm.  Use East Stockton Blvd or Waterman Road as an alternate route.

The Dickens Street Faire takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Streets will remain closed to clear out event vendors and prepare for the Holiday Lights Parade beginning at 6 p.m.
