Two Suspected Car Thieves Arrested by Elk Grove Police

Two suspects are in custody at the Sacramento County Jail after they were apprehended for allegedly stealing a car and in being in possession of stolen goods.

Elk Grove Police responded to the 8900 block of Grant Line Road at 8:40 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28 regarding a vehicle theft. Patrol officers located an unoccupied vehicle fitting the description a short distance away.   

In the same area, officers located another vehicle that matched the description of the vehicle associated with the suspects who were responsible for the auto theft. A short distance away from there officers found Salena Felicia Wood, 24, of Colfax, California and Christopher St. Charles, 34, of Sacramento. 

After detaining the duo (pictured above), records check of the suspect vehicle revealed that the car had been reported stolen and Wood was found to be in possession of a key belonging to the suspect vehicle. A search of the suspect vehicle led to the discovery of controlled substances, ammunition, and a reported stolen laptop computer. 

Wood is held on a $20,000 bail and St. Charles is not eligible for release. Both will be arraigned on Thursday, November 30.
