An Elk Grove resident was injured after they were struck by their vehicle that had been stolen.

According to Elk Grove Police reports, a known suspect arrived at the 5000 block of Thoroe Court in northwest Elk Grove and attempted to take possession of a vehicle that the victim had the legal authority to possess. When the victim tried to prevent the suspect from stealing the vehicle, the suspect drove away and struck the victim. 

The victim was treated at an area hospital for minor injuries. The identity of the suspect has not been released.
