Sacramento Regional Transit Launching Ride Share Service in Citrus Heights

February 2, 2018 |

Sacramento Regional Transit will launch a new on-demand ride sharing service in Citrus Heights.

The new service, called SmaRT Ride, will formally be launched on Monday, February 12 in a ribbon cutting ceremony at Citrus Heights City Hall.

In the new service, Sacramento RT has partnered with TransLōc to offer the service which will enhance the existing City Ride dial-a-ride service. The new service promises to more convenient and flexible shuttle service.

The new program allows customers using a smartphone application to schedule rides on smaller neighborhood-friendly sized buses. Similar to ride-hailing services, a shuttle bus will pick riders up wherever they are and take them where they want to go.

After the 10 a.m. press conference and ribbon cutting ceremony, a 20-minute demonstration and ride-along will be held to showcase how the on-demand service works, including how to schedule rides, view real-time maps and navigate the operator’s software.
