Suspect Arrested After Leading Elk Grove Police on Pursuit in Stolen Vehicle

A Sacramento man remains in custody at the county jail after leading police on a vehicle pursuit.

At 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 15, a vehicle being driven in a reckless manner by Dustin Jeffery Payne, 34, was observed by an Elk Grove Police officer on the 8400 block of Elk Grove Boulevard. When the officer attempted to stop Payne, he led them on a short vehicle pursuit.

After Payne stopped, it was discovered the vehicle he was operating had been reported stolen. Payne was arrested and remains in custody awaiting arraignment on Tuesday, February 20.
