Man Arrested by Elk Grove Police, Charged With Illegal Firearm Possession

A Sacramento man is being held at the county jail after he was allegedly found to be in illegal possession of a firearm.

Just before 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 29, Elk Grove Police stopped a vehicle driven by Darnell Coleman, 38, near Cresleigh Parkway and Elk Grove Boulevard for a code violation. After contacting Coleman, officers conducted a probable cause search of the car and discovered an unloaded firearm in the glove box and and fully loaded ammunition magazine on the rear floorboard.

Darnell was arrested and booked into the county jail where he faces felony charges of a felon in possession of a firearm. Bail has been set at $10,000 and arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday, April 3.
