Extended Road Closure at Bradshaw and Sheldon Begins on Tuesday, May 29

May 28, 2018 |

Traffic Advisory from The City of Elk Grove |

To improve traffic flow and reduce flooding risks, Elk Grove Public Works will replace the existing bridge and four-way stop at the intersection of Sheldon Road and Bradshaw Road with a multi-lane roundabout and a new bridge this summer. To speed up work on the project, the intersection will be closed all vehicle and pedestrian traffic beginning on Tuesday, May 29.
Increased Travel Times & Detours: Motorists should use Bond, Waterman, and Calvine roads as alternate routes during the closure. Detours will be posted, but motorists should plan ahead and add a little more time to get to their destination if this is part of their regular route.
Construction Activities: Crews will be constructing a roundabout at Sheldon and Bradshaw Roads and a new bridge under the intersection.
Completion: The intersection is scheduled to remain closed through the first week in August. The new roundabout will open prior to the start of the next school session. Work in the area will continue through September.
