Jerry Braxmeyer Kicks-off Campaign For Consumnes Community Services District Board of Directors

May 22, 2018 |

Before a group of supporters and elected officials, Elk Grove resident Jerry Braxmeyer kicked-off his campaign for a seat on the Cosumnes Community Services District board of directors tonight at Old Town Elk Grove's Brickhouse restaurant.

After thanking his supporters and providing highlights of his involvement in various civic endeavors, which currently includes being a director on the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce, Braxmeyer noted his lifelong residency in Elk Grove and stressed its importance in addressing community needs.

"It's that personal experience that is unique to any other candidate running for the CSD board for 2018," Braxmeyer said. "And that to me is one of the reasons I am running for the CSD board."

Braxmeyer went on to say that after consulting with several peers, he said he felt the timing was right for him to pursue elected office so that he could make more substantial contributions to the community.

"It's about giving back to the community that's important to me," he said. "It's not about a personal agenda I have, it's not about personal ideas I have, it's about working with the fire department to make sure they have the best apparatus, that they have candidates."

Braxmeyer currently is one of four candidates who has announced their candidacy for the two open seats on the CCSD. Along with Braxmeyer, newcomers Jacqueline Moreno and Koi Rivers have entered the race along with incumbent director Rod Brewer who is seeking his second fourth-year term.

Among local officials attending the event were Elk Grove Vice Mayor Darren Suen, and Elk Grove Council Members Pat Hume and Stephanie Nguyen. It is not known if the three council members have officially endorsed Braxmeyer.

For Braxmeyer, this is his second foray into local politics. In 2012 Braxmeyer entered the six-candidate field for the first-ever contest for Elk Grove's directly elected mayor losing out to Gary Davis.
