New Cooking Channel Series to Film Episode at Sacramento County Fair

May 19, 2018 |

On top of all the activities scheduled at the Sacramento County Fair, organizers have announced a new series from the popular Cooking Channel will be filming an episode at the five-day event.

The new series, which is currently in development and unnamed, will tape an episode at the Fair on Friday, May 25 between 12 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

According to information released by fair officials, "A big-time Michelin-starred chef and media personality is coming to the fair to compete in a taped cook-off against one of America’s top carnival food vendors."

As part of the filming, fair officials note that a limited number of audience members will be asked to participate in a tasting contest and vote for their favorite dish.

"We are so excited to have been selected as a featured location for this Cooking Channel series," Pamela Fyock, CEO of the Sacramento County Fair said. "It’s going to be such a fun and unique competition. I can’t wait for the Fairgoers to come out and enjoy the show!”

A select number of audience members will be chosen to eat the food and vote for their favorite dish. These select audience members will get a chance to watch all the cooking action up close and get a chance to appear on national television!

Doors to the Sacramento County Fair are open to the public May 24-28. Tickets are available for purchase online at www.sacfair.com or at the Sacramento County Fair office.
