Shoplifters Alleged to Hit Store Employee With Car Arrested by Elk Grove Police on Felony Assault, Conspiracy Charges

Three shoplifting suspects were arrested by Elk Grove Police after they allegedly struck a store employee with their car as they fled the scene.

Shortly after 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, two people, a 17-year old female juvenile, and Teojane Marie Marshall, 19, both of Sacramento, exited Leslie's Pool Supplies on Laguna Boulevard without paying for merchandise. The two shoplifters entered a car driven by Deanna Sinclaira Willis, 32, of Sacramento.

As a store employee followed the two shoplifters, Willis hit the employee with her car as she attempted to flee. The employee was struck in the leg causing minor injuries. 

Responding police officers located the car as it was attempting to flee and initiated an enforcement stop. A record check revealed that Chaney was on probation and a search of the vehicle led to the recovery of the stolen merchandise. 

Willis and Marshall are being held on felony conspiracy, grand theft, and assault with a deadly weapons charges at the county jail. Arraignment is on Thursday, June 7.
