AP Makes Call - Grant to Face Bera in November For 7th District

June 5, 2018 |

The Associated Press has called Andrew Grant the runner-up in the race for California's 7th congressional district.

According to most recent tallies posted by the Sacramento County, Grant has won 19,428 votes for 33-percent of the current total. Grant was being challenged by fellow Republican Dr. Yona Barash for the second position to challenge incumbent Democratic Congressman Dr. Ami Bera.

Bera has secured the first place finish with 30,426 votes for 52-percent of the vote and will now face Grant in the November election.

Although the district is again expected to be competitive during this election cycle, Cooks Political Report of competitive races now rates the district as likely Democratic.
