One Result In Sacramento County Primary Could Foreshadow Wild Card in Elk Grove Elections

June 10, 2018 |

Last week there were highly visible primary contests in Sacramento County for the two highest law enforcement positions - district attorney and sheriff.

Even though there are close to 200,000 votes to be counted, it is certain Ann Marie Schubert will win a second term over challenger Noah Phillips. In the other race for sheriff, it is certain Scott Jones will come in first place, with the only unanswered question is if he will be forced into a run-off.

It is that race for sheriff where one occurrence should be noted. As it did in the sheriff's contests, could this occurrence be a wild card in one of three elections involving the Elk Grove City Council?
