Suspect flees injury-accident, arrested for alleged impaired driving by EGPD

A man who allegedly fled an injury-accident is in custody at the Sacramento County Jail after being arrested by Elk Grove Police.

Just after 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30 a vehicle being driven by Dwight Christopher Joseph (pictured above), 37, of Sacramento was involved in a collision near Bellaterra Drive and Whitelock Parkway. The accident resulted in injuries for the other driver involved in the accident. 

Joseph fled the scene and was located by responding Elk Grove Police officers. Upon contact, officers determined the suspect showed signs of impairment and failed a field sobriety test. 

The suspect remains in custody and will be arraigned on Monday, September 10.
