Domestic violence suspect arrested by Elk Grove Police, held on attempted murder charges

An Elk Grove man is being held on attempted murder charges after an alleged domestic violence incident.

Just before midnight on Sunday, September 9, Elk Grove Police responded to a domestic violence call for service at an undisclosed location. The suspect, Equan Erick Herron, 29, was involved in an altercation with his victim when he allegedly slashed the victim in the face and neck.

The victim was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. There is no current information on the status of the victim.

 Herron is being held ineligible for bail on domestic violence and attempted murder charges at the county jail. Arraignment will be on Wednesday, September 12.
