Multiple shoplifting suspects arrested by EGPD on conspiracy, vehicle pursuit charges

October 15, 2018 |

A team of five alleged conspirators were arrested after they stole from an area retailer and led police on vehicle pursuit.

Just before 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 14, four female suspects, Khalia Vonner, 20; Timmara Barksdale, 22; Mi-Rinda Cotton, 22; and Lekeitha Jones, 22, took merchandise out of the back door of the Old Navy store on West Stockton Boulevard. The four suspects entered a vehicle being driven by Darnell Stephens, 19, who fled the area.

Responding officers from the Elk Grove Police department located the vehicle, and Stephens led them on a short pursuit. Stephens stopped the vehicle in the parking lot of an adjacent shopping center and all five fled on foot.

Police officers were able to detain all five and placed them under arrest. All five were booked into the county jail and were released today.
