Street crimes unit of EGPD serves warrant on residential marijuana grow operation

As part of their ongoing efforts, detectives from the Elk Grove Police's Street Crimes Unit served search warrants on two suspected illegal residential marijuana grow operations in Elk Grove.
At 7 a.m. on Tuesday, November 14, detectives served warrants on the 10000 block of Shirza Way and the 9200 block of Louis Street related to active growing operations. As a result of the searches, over 860 plants and 31 pounds of processed marijuana were confiscated.
Three suspect, all of Elk Grove, were Xihuai Li, 64; and his two sons, Jinhui Li, 35; and Jin Li, 36 were arrested and booked into the county jail. The suspects have been released from custody.

These grow house busts are getting to be a little heavy on PR and light on substance. Okay, so we nab a few low-level worker bees that work the houses, but how come we never read about busts of the people higher up in the Hmong pipeline who are financing and collecting all the money from these operations?
I seriously doubt Greenthumb Li runs down to Bank of America to make his daily deposit before he hits the sack in his grow house each evening. I also seriously doubt he made an appointment with his mortgage broker to arrange for financing to buy the grown house in the first place. And am also pretty sure he does not stay up nights writing out checks for his utility bills.
The little candles on top of the birthday cake are mere decorations on top of the real cake. Let's beat our chests in victory when the real marijuana syndicate is busted okay?
