2 Elk Grove neighborhood parks get relief, residents approve maintenance assessements

In votes tallied at last night's Cosumnes Community Services District, neighborhood residents approved an assessment for maintenance of two parks.

Located in Elk Grove's Perry Ranch and Camden Pointe and Camden Estates subdivisions, residents approved the assessments with 72 and 83 percent support respectively. The assements needed a simple majority for approval.

The two neighborhood parks - Edie MacDonald in the Camdens and Joseph Perry Park in Perry Ranch, experienced maintenance cutbacks last year due to funding shortages. Additonally, a portion of Edie McDonald was unfinished.

The approval of the assessments will fund increased maintence and both park and for the completion of facilities at Edie MacDonald.

According to the CCSD, Perry Ranch residents will pay between $93 to $108 annually, while residents in the Camdens will be assessed $156 to $173 annually.
