Witness notifies Elk Grove Police, suspect arrested for auto theft

A witness who called in suspicious behavior helped police recover a stolen vehicle and arrest a man suspected in the theft.
Just after 11 a.m. on Monday, June 4, Elk Grove Police responded to a call regarding a man trying to open doors on parked vehicles near Dandelion Drive and Lollipop Lane. Respond officers contacted Maxwell Quinteros, 20, of Sacramento.
After detaining Quinteros, police learned the vehicle he reportedly used was stolen. Police also found Quinteros to be in alleged possession of a controlled substance and narcotic paraphernalia.
Quniteros remains in custody at the county jail on a $10,000 bail.
