Sideshow drivers arrested, cars impounded

Police in Fairfield, Calif. arrested one driver, and cited another following two early morning so-called sideshow gatherings.

The first incident took place just after midnight on Sunday, August 18 after officers noticed several people outside of their vehicles watching a white Ford Mustang spin “donuts” on North Texas Street near East Tabor. An officer tried to stop the Mustang, but the driver fled south on North Texas Street.

Due to safety considerations, there was no vehicle pursuit but the vehicle was located minutes later in an apartment complex on Travis Boulevard.  The officer positively identified the driver and arrested Charli Alvarado, 18, of Suisun City for reckless driving and evading police and impounded his vehicle.

Minutes later at 12:30am, Fairfield Police began getting calls of several vehicles in the area of Red Top Road in Cordelia “doing donuts.”  Responding officers saw several vehicles and people in the area.

The vehicles fled as officers arrived but officers stopped one of the fleeing vehicles for having no license plates and found the driver to be unlicensed.  The 22 year old male driver was issued a citation for driving without a license and his vehicle was towed.
