Voices of Elk Grove - Inclusionary, affordable housing should throughout the city; 'What we have is economic segregation'

During the Thursday, November 21 meeting of the Elk Grove Planning commission, long-time community activist and possible Elk Grove City Council candidate Lynn Wheat questioned the wisdom of raising the building height limits next to single-story homes.

Additionally, Wheat also questioned the current policy of clustering most of the future affordable apartments along Bruceville Road in District 4. As an alternative, Wheat suggested dispersing affordable housing throughout the community to improve the distribution of housing and socio-economic diversity.

If Wheat wants to be taken seriously as a Council candidate, she needs to STOP TALKING ABOUT THE ISSUES and start mugging it up on social media at charity events, attend groundbreaking ceremonies, show up at cultural celebrations, bring a few cans to the Food Bank, and get on down to the Sutter Club!

If Wheat wants to sit on that throne, she needs to stop talking issues and get down to the nitty gritty fluff.
