Candidate files paperwork for Elk Grove District 3 seat in 2020 election

According to information posted on the City of Elk Grove's city clerk's webpage, a candidate has filed to run for the Elk Grove City Council District 3 seat in November 2020.

The filing of the California Form 501, Candidate Intention Statement, is by Amandeep Singh. The current occupant of District 3, Steve Detrick, has not declared whether or not he will seek reelection.

Regardless of Detrick's decision, two others - Maureen Craft and Kevin Spease - have filed candidate paperwork for the office. Another person, Lynn Wheat, has indicated interest in running but has not formally announced her decision.

A registered civil engineer with the Sacramento County Water Agency, Singh is also part of the volunteer leadership of the Sikh Gurdwara on Elk Grove-Florin Road in District 3.
