Elk Grove Police have released a physical description on the suspect in a morning shooting that left one person injured.

The shooting happened on Sunday, December 22 at approximately 9:15 on the 3300 block of Renwich Avenue. The caller who reported the shooting said they heard an argument prior to the gunfire.

The person suspected of shooting the victim is described as a Caucasian male adult, between six feet two inches (6’2”) and six feet four inches (6’4”) tall and thin build.

While officers were responding to initial call, another 9-1-1 from a clerk at a nearby gas station said someone suffering from a gunshot wound arrived at the business. Officers, along with emergency personnel arrived at the gas station and determined the victim had been shot once in the arm and once in the leg.

Investigators believe the victim and the shooter were arguing just outside the apartment building when the suspect, pulled out a firearm and began firing multiple times at the victim, hitting the victim twice. The victim then retrieved a firearm from his person and shot back at the suspect.

The victim was able to get into his vehicle and drive to the nearby gas station. The suspect and another person fled the area prior the officers’ arrival at the apartment complex.

Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to call the Elk Grove Police Department Communication Center (916) 714-5115 or Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP (4357). Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.00. Tips can also be sent via SMS text message by entering CRIMES (274637) on a cell phone, followed by Tip732 and the message.
