Car wheel theft suspects apprehended by Elk Grove Police, allegedly in possession of narcotics

Two suspects were arrested early Thursday morning after Elk Grove Police found they were trying to steal wheels off a car.

Police officers responded to the vicinity of Emerald Grove Drive and Park Trail Drive after receiving a call of suspicious activity. The caller heard an alarm and said the suspects might be attempting to steal wheels and gave a description of their vehicle that left the area.

Officers arrived and found the parked vehicle was a reported stolen vehicle and that there were wood blocks next to it. The officer then located the car matching the caller's description parked nearby.

Travis Allen Knight, 30, and Tiffany Blair Fowler, 38, both of Elk Grove, were contacted inside the vehicle. While detained the suspects, officers saw tools related to stealing vehicle wheels as well as items used to siphon gasoline inside their car.

A record check revealed Knight had an active warrant out for his arrest. He was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and narcotic paraphernalia. A search of the suspect's vehicle led to the discovery of heroin next to Fowler’s property.

Both suspects were arrested for various charges and then transported to the main jail and have been released on bail.
