City-sponsored events in Elk Grove postponed

As a result of the Coronavirus, the City of Elk Grove announced that some city-sponsored events will be postponed through the end of March.

In a statement issued last night, the city's public information office said:

"To limit the spread of respiratory viruses and safeguard those at highest risk for COVID-19, the City of Elk Grove has announced it will postpone some events scheduled through the end of March. This move is in accordance with new California Department of Public Health guidelines for mass gatherings and made at the recommendation of Sacramento County health officials to reduce the potential for community transmission. In these guidelines, the City is following Scenario II, which includes recommendations for mass gatherings and community events in counties with evidence of community transmission."

Among the coming events that have been postponed are the following:

  • Peace and Love: A Musical Revue of the 60’s (March 20)
  • Home Energy Expo (March 21)

The date for the Peace and Love musical review has not been rescheduled.
