Special Elk Grove City Council meeting this Wednesday; Volunteers sought to assist Elk Grove Food Bank

In a video message posted this evening by the City of Elk Grove, it was announced a special meeting of the Elk Grove City Council will be conducted on Wednesday, March 18.

That announcement was made in a video presentation by Mayor Steve Ly. The meeting is needed to ratify the city's proclamation of local emergency which was made last week. 

In his presentation, Ly said the city and other groups will be coordinating efforts to help the Elk Grove Food Bank secure resources for at-people, especially senior citizens.  

Ly also assured Elk Grove residents that while items at grocery stores are in short supply, he said they will be replenished. Nonetheless, he asked residents 

"Supplies are coming, I assure you of that," he said. "But make sure when you pick up supplies, pick up only what you need, save some for your neighbors."
