Elk Grove man arrested for alleged possesion of unregisterd gun, extended magazine

An Elk Grove man contacted by Elk Grove Police officers was arrested on weapons charges.
On the early evening of Wednesday April 1, Ali Hassan Ahmed, 21, was contacted by police during a service call on the 6900 block of Plume Way near Batey Park in the Laguna neighborhood. While officers were speaking with Ahmed and other people in the group, Ahmed was seen placing something that appeared to be a firearm near a parked vehicle.
After detaining the group, the firearm and the extended magazine were located and it was determined it was not unregistered to Ahmed or any group members. Ahmed was arrested, booked into the county jail and has been released.
