In short period of time Singh-Allen narrows Ly's campaign finance advantage in Elk Grove mayoral race

Even with a late entry into the 2020 Elk Grove mayoral race, Bobbie Singh-Allen has raised enough campaign contributions to narrow Mayor Steve Ly's previous financial advantage.

According to financial disclosures filed with the Elk Grove City Clerk's office on September 19, Singh-Allen, who is a Trustee with the Elk Grove Unified School District, received cash contributions of $124,716 since entering the race in late July. Along with a $50,000 personal loan and $4,434 in non-monetary contributions, Singh-Allen has funds totaling $179,150.

Singh-Allen's largest business contributions include the following:
  • Allen Construction Expeditors, Oakland - $5,000
  • Katherine Bardis Miry, Reynon and Bardis - $5,000
  • California Real Estate Political Action Committee - $5,000
  • Stonelake Wine and Spirits - $2,500
  • California Lodging Industry Association - $1,800
  • ReFuel, Elk Grove - $2,150
Singh-Allen also received several donations classified as from individuals ranging from $100 to $5,000. Aside from Reynon and Bardis, she did not receive donations from any of the other real estate developers or construction trade unions who regularly contribute to candidates, especially incumbents.
