What you are suggesting Mr. Gougherty is that candidates, especially GOPs pass a litmus test. I agree when any officeholder, especially Republicans, when they take their oath to uphold the Constitution really mean what they say.

There is a reason even city council members are asked to uphold the Constitution. Mr. Hume and Mr. Spease - are you up to following your oath or is your allegiance to Mr. Trump?

It seems VERY VIEW elected national Republicans either take their vow to support and defend the Constitution seriously or they simply don't understand it, or both.
I've voted Republican occasionally in the past, but as of 2016, due to Republican's continued refusal to support the Constitution and the basic concepts of democracy, I may NEVER vote Republican again. Don Trump has done his best to destroy our democracy and those that refuse to acknowledge this are pretty much dead to me, this includes local Republicans that won't support the Constitution over their party. I can't believe this is happening in my lifetime by my generation.
