Anyone who has been to even one Elk Grove City Council meeting, what are the five words heard most often from the dais during any given meeting. . ."I agree with staff's recommendation." Come on, EGN, staff's word is gospel.

As noted in a previous EGN Minute, "potted plants."

Regarding "Eyes" comment, the city council should automate things and install a pushbutton that says, "I agree with staff's recommendation" to speed things up during so-called deliberations. There is rarely inquiry, but we all know developers pay the city council, and the city staff delivers the pre-ordained outcome.

There is another point in this segment to address. Most know as Mayor, Ms. Singh-Allen is but one vote. However, given her widespread self-coverage on social media platforms, she is the city's face, so in a sense, they are her city council members and city manager. With that comes the perks and pitfalls.

And lest we forget, isn't it Mr. Suen who is always telling us he is the most educated, an engineer working for the state's department of water resources? The lack of curiosity from the most self-proclaimed, most intelligent person on the city council on this and other issues is disappointing but unsurprising.

I have a suggestion! Take all those empty e-Tran buses driving around town and pay the bus drivers double to keep an eye on things!
