District 5 Supervisor candidates - Hume receive more funding; Moreno schedules campaign launch event

With the June 7 California primary election within site, two candidates seeking the District 5 seat on the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors are gearing up their campaigns.

For Elk Grove City Councilmember Pat Hume, that means fundraising. According to his recent disclosures, Hume accepted $9,100 from individual and business contributors, including developer Angelo Tsakopoulus and Taylor & Wiley.

On his Facebook page, Hume announced a St. Patrick's Day fundraiser. Additionally, Hume's campaign has organized a precinct walk this Saturday.

One of the other top contenders in this race, Cosumnes Community Services District Director Jacklyn Moreno, has scheduled a campaign kick-off and precinct walk. The event will be held at Elk Grove Regional Park on Sunday, March 26.

The third leading candidate, former Elk Grove Mayor Steve Ly, has been relatively quiet on his social media account. Because he entered the race after January 1, Ly has not been required to file any campaign finance disclosures to date.

Ly did post pictures of a February 25 fundraising event and took his oath when submitting campaign papers.

To Hume's precinct walkers, I would say because of inflation, I would say no more potholders--I want an oven mitt!

And a bottle of Jack! A former mailer against Hume.
