Prominent LGBQT organization, labor union extend California Assembly 10th District endorsements

In the highly competitive and closely watched 10th California Assembly District race, one of the four Democratic candidates received endorsements this week from prominent groups.

Sacramento City Councilmember Eric Guerra announced that Equality California had endorsed his candidacy. According to his site, the group is the "nation's largest statewide LGBTQ+ civil rights organization."

Guerra also announced that the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1245 has endorsed his candidacy and recently donated $2,000 to his campaign. Many unions are supporting Guerra over the other top-tier Democratic candidates, Dr. Tecoy Porter and Elk Grove City Councilmember Stephanie Nguyen, in the June 7 primary election.

Guerra is also attempting to make inroads in areas considered strongholds for Nguyen. Tomorrow night Guerra is holding a fundraiser at Elk Grove's Well Seasons dim sum restaurant dubbed "AAPIs For Guerra For Assembly," hosted by SMUD Director Dave Tamayo and Sacramento City Councilmembers Mai Vang and Sean Loloee.

On Saturday Guerra campaign will canvass Sacramento's Pocket and Greenhaven neighborhoods.
