Asian American Business Club sponsors fundraising dinner for 5th District Supervisor Candidate Steve Ly

Bolstered by over 200 supporters on a cool, windy evening, a Sacramento-based business advocacy group held a fundraiser for District 5 Sacramento County Board of Supervisor Steve Ly.

Sponsored by the Asian American Business Club, the event was held with less than two weeks until voting closes on June 7 for the California Primary Election. Among supporters and organizers were representatives of Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs and Mr. Tommy Phong, owner of Welco Supermarket.

During his presentation, Ly addressed an attack mailer launched against his campaign by the California Real Estate Association and asked volunteers to assist in canvassing. Ly is one of four candidates seeking the District 5 seat held by Don Nottoli since 1994.

There are four candidates, Ly, and two other candidates, Elk Grove City Councilmember Pat Hume, Cosumnes Community Services District Director Jaclyn Moreno, and Elk Grove resident Alex Joe. Ly, Hume, and Moreno are the three most likely to finish in the top two and advance to the November election.

Should any candidate in the June 7 primary secure more than 50-percent of the vote, they will be the winner.

See Ly's presentation in the video below.
