Early vote tally has Schubert in fourth place in California Attorney General's race

Ann Marie Schubert's bid to advance to the November general election in the Attorney General race as an independent candidate is failing.

Statewide results show the Sacramento County District Attorney is in last place among the leading candidates. Schubert is in fourth place with 199,918 or 7.6-percent of the statewide vote.

Leading the pack is Democrat Rob Bonta with 58.6 percent of the votes cast so far.

Far more telling for Schubert is her performance in Sacramento County where she is in second place behind Bonta. Schubert has 52 percent of the vote while Schubert, who is in second place, has 23.63-percent.
