Hume widens first place standing in District 5 Sacramento County Supervisors race but unlikely to break 50%

Vote tallies released this afternoon by Sacramento County Voters Registration and Elections show Republic Pat Hume widening his lead over the other contenders for the District 5 Sacramento County Board of Supervisors race.

Tallies show Hume with 43.07-percent with 17,954 votes. Initial counts released last week showed Hume with 40.83-percent.

Maintaining second place is Democrat Jaclyn Moreno with 31.79 percent with 13,260 votes. Last week Moreno had 32.07-percent.

Independent candidate Steve Ly slips slightly in third place with 7,632 votes for 18.3-percent. Ly's total last week was 19.02-percent.

While Hume's share of the total vote has increased with each vote tally release, it is unlikely, with a diminishing pool of uncounted ballots, that he will exceed 50-percent and be declared the winner. Hume and Moreno will face off during the November general election.

The next vote release will be on Friday, June 17.
