Jones outpaces Ashby in September fundraising as clock winds down on State Senate District 8 race

With the clock winding down on the November 2022 election, California State Senator District 8 candidates Angelique Ashby and Dave Jones continue fundraising efforts.

Since September 1, Jones has raised $50,400, of which $29,100 was from individuals. The other donations were from the following entities:
  • San Manuel Band of Mission Indians - $2,500
  • Greene Broillet & Wheeler - $4,900
  • Faculty for our University's Future - $9,500
  • Calif. Machinist $2,500
  • Calif. Rice PAC - $2,000
  • Affordable Housing PAC - $2,500
  • Calif. Teamsters - $4,900
  • Teichert Inc. - $1,000
  • California College of Audiology - $1,500

Ashby's fundraising activities this month have generated $35,700. Of those contributions, $5,900 were from individuals.

The other entities' contributions included the following:
  • Association of Calif. School Administrators - $9,700
  • C.F.Y Development - $4,900
  • Calif. Almond Industry PAC - $2,450
  • Calif. State Council of Laborers - $4,850
  • Calif. Metal PAC Coalition - $1,000
  • AT&T - $1,000
  • Calif. Rice PAC - $2,000
  • Sacramento Police Officers Assoc. - $2,000
Even though the final day of voting is 56 days away, mailers, online, and TV advertising in this competitive race will probably start later this month. Mail-in ballots will be sent on October 10.

As with the primary race, independent expenditure committees for both candidates are expected to be significant players.
