Sacramento County declares winter storm state of emergency

With rising waters and many areas experiencing flooding, Sacramento County has issued a winter storm state of emergency.

The Board of Supervisors will ratify the proclamation within seven days of the proclamation signing at a special meeting.

Sacramento County has been experiencing an atmospheric river that began Dec. 31, 2022, and thus far has resulted in significant transportation impacts, rising creek and river levels, and flooding in Wilton.

Sacramento County’s Office of Emergency Services is tasked with collecting damage estimates from County departments, cities within its jurisdiction, and special districts.
