Two Citrus Heights City Council races still undecided

Even though most races in Sacramento County have been determined, and there are less than 2,000 uncounted ballots countywide, two Citrus Heights City Council races remain undecided. Those races are for City Council Districts 2 and 5.

In the District 2 race, Marijane Lopez-Taff has a 19-vote lead over Michael Nishimura. Lopez Taff has 1,963 votes to Nishimura's 1,946.

For District 5, incumbent Porshe Middleton has a 30-vote lead over challenger Natalee Price. Middleton has 1,985 votes to Price's 1,955.

The two other candidates in the District 5 race, Steve Forrest Durham, has 899 votes, and James Tipton has 744 votes.

One of the earlier tallies from the Sacramento County Voter Registration and Elections had Middleton tied.

Even though the number of remaining ballots for the two districts is minuscule, and there are only 2,000 uncounted ballots countywide, given the narrow gaps between the candidates, a change in the lead is possible.
