Sandbag distribution continues in Elk Grove as rains linger; public works clean-ups expected to start

The City of Elk Grove is continuing its sandbag distribution as the rains continue.

The distribution will be held at the site of the new public library at 9270 Elk Grove Boulevard. The site is self-serve, and verified residents are limited to 25 bags.

Supplies are distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Residents will need to bring their own shovels to fill the bags.

The previous distribution site at the city's corporate yard on Iron Rock Way is not operating today.

Like many communities throughout the region, Elk Grove residents experienced power outages, localized floods, and fallen trees and limbs from the weekend storms. The city's public works department has been contacted regarding their clean-up efforts, and we will provide that information as it becomes available.

If you have damage to report, road flooding, or other hazards, contact the city's public works department hotline at 916-687-3005.
