ELK GROVE , CA – On Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at 9:32 p.m., the Elk Grove Police Department responded to a shots fired call in the 6300 block of Livorno Way. Upon arrival, officers discovered that three individuals had suffered minor gun shot wounds (non-life threatening) and the individuals responsible had fled the scene.
Over the past few days, Detectives have been following up on information received regarding the identity of those responsible for the shooting. The investigation has led to the arrest of two individuals, 19-year-old Brandon Claypool (photo attached) and a 17-year-old male juvenile. Both men have been arrested for attempted murder with a gang enhancement and conspiracy (Penal Code Sections 664/187, 186.22 and 182 PC).
At this point, Detectives believe that the shooting was in retaliation for a physical fight that the 17-year-old juvenile was involved in earlier in the day. Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to call the Elk Grove Police Department Communications Center at (916) 714-5115 or the Elk Grove Police Department Detectives Bureau at (916) 478-8060.
