An Elk Grove man was arrested late Tuesday night on child endangerment charges stemming from a domestic violence incident.

According to Elk Grove Police, 24-year old Vanderely Silva was involved in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation. During the altercation, the victim was holding an infant that Silva tried to pull from the victim.

Silva then allegedly punched the victim who was holding the infant. The suspect also allegedly kicked the victim in the stomach and chest while holding the infant.

The suspect reportedly fled the location with the infant. Responding officers located and detained Silva without incident and the infant was returned to the victim.

Silva was arrested and taken to the county jail where he remains in custody on $75,000 bail.
