Elk Grove Police Arrest Suspect in Possession of Stolen Blank Checks

December 31, 2015 |

A stop of a bicyclist for a code violation late Wednesday night led to the arrest of a man with outstanding warrants and allegedly in possession of stolen blank checks.

According to Elk Grove Police, 44-year old Marlon Ward (pictured above)  of Sacramento was operating a bicycle near Emerald Vista Drive and Feickert Drive who was stopped for a vehicle code violation. A records check revealed Ward had two active warrants out for his arrest.

Ward was arrested and a search of his backpack led to the discovery of blank checks belonging to two different businesses. Ward is being held at the county jail on a $110,000 bail for six felony and two misdemeanor charges. Arraignment is scheduled for next Monday afternoon.
