Elk Grove Man Allegedly Brandishes Gun at Estranged Spouse, Gets Arrested

An Elk Grove man was arrested yesterday afternoon after he allegedly brandished a handgun at two victims, one of which was his estranged wife.

Elk Grove Police officers were dispatched to the 8900 block of Rio Grande Court after 43-year old Mario Drayton gained entry into his estranged wife's house by forcibly opening a security screen and door. Drayton reportedly entered his 51-year old wife's bedroom and brandished a handgun at his wife and an18-year old female who was at the residence. 

Drayton fled the location in his vehicle and was located by responding officers. Drayton was arrested and being held at the county jail on a $700,000 bail, but is ineligible for release until February 24. Drayton faces three felony charges including assault with a deadly weapon, burglary, and committing a felony with a firearm and will be arraigned tomorrow. 

The victim was granted an emergency protective order against Drayton. Officers were unable to locate the handgun allegedly used by Drayton.
