Suspects in 2 domestic violence incidents arrested, resisted detention by Elk Grove Police



Suspects in two domestic violence incidents were taken into custody but not before they allegedly resisted detention by police officers.

In the first first of the two incidents, both of which occurred on Monday, January 14, Doree Griffin, 30, of Elk Grove, allegedly slapped and punched his victim in the abdomen. Griffin fled the scene and was located a short distance away responding Elk Grove Police officers.

Upon contact, Griffin allegedly tried to flee and when captured, resisted efforts by the officers. Griffin was booked into the county jail and the victim was issued an emergency protective order.

In the later incident, Jose Gallegos-Garcia, 36, of Galt, allegedly scratched the face of two victim when they resisted his efforts to remove his juvenile child from the residence. Gallegos-Garcia also allegedly tried to resist responding officers.

Gallegos-Garcia is in custody on a $150,000 bail and will be arraigned later today. The primary victim was issued an emergency protective order.
